There are several reservoirs in the state to see the Kokanee salmon spawning in mid-september, the nearest to Cache Valley is Porcupine Reservoir.
To celebrate the first day of fall, we traveled up the canyon. The maple leaves are starting to change. The temperature warm. We parked at the gate for the camp. They ask you don’t trespass, so parking isn’t the best, and the hike down a challenge but the river is full of the salmon right now.
