Hiked May 26.
Richard’s Hollow is an absolute must. Hike in spring or early summer when the water is flowing, the ambience of the trickling stream with patches of wild flowers make the adventure an amazing experience. Later in the summer the waterfall dries up.
Trailhead: 8.7 miles from the base of Blacksmith Fork Canyon. 3.7 miles from left hand turn off. You’ll find the trail on the left side of the gravel road. Our plan was to go as far as the waterfall. It was 1.75 miles up the trail, and I’d say easy enough for kids.
You’ll cross the stream three times so plan accordingly. Some of us crossed by log, others of us donning chacos took to the river.
At mile one.
Appreciating the destination.
